Boulder Flatirons

One of the first goals I ever had upon moving to Colorado was to climb all the Flatirons.  I knew it was a significant undertaking, but didn’t know just how many of those pieces of rock existed.  A short while later, to keep the objective from being my life’s work, I shortened the list to Flatirons requiring at least 2 pitches to climb.  Even still, it is a huge list; it is a worthy goal.

Below is a complete (as best as I can tell) list of the Flatirons that are large enough for 2 pitches of climbing.  For the Flatirons I have completed (stood on the summit or otherwise felt I “climbed”), I have colored red and noted the route, date and people involved. Otherwise, it is a piece of rock I still need to climb and is colored green.  I haven’t attempted to indicate how many times I’ve climbed each flatiron because, frankly, I don’t remember.  Some of the Flatirons are favorites and I have climbed them many times.  While, for some of the others, I still don’t know where they are.  But I’ll get to them all eventually.

I even have a few trip reports linked; you’ll have to mouse-over to see the link.

I count ninety-six pieces of rock:
