“All” Boulder Flatirons

One of the first goals I ever had upon moving to Colorado was to climb (or at least climb on) all the Flatirons.  I knew it was a significant undertaking, but didn’t know just how many of those pieces of rock existed.  A short while later, to keep the objective from being my life’s work, I shortened the list to Flatirons requiring at least 2 pitches to climb.  Even still, it is a huge list, and a worthy goal.

Below is a complete (as best as I can tell) list of the Flatirons that are large enough for 2 pitches of climbing.  For the Flatirons I have completed (stood on the summit or otherwise felt I “climbed”), I have colored red and noted the route, date and people involved. And, if I happened to climb something shorter than 2 pitches, I’ve included it.  If it is a 2+ pitch piece of rock I still need to climb and is colored green.  I haven’t attempted to indicate how many times I’ve climbed each flatiron because, frankly, I don’t remember.  Some of the Flatirons are favorites and I have climbed them many times.  While, for some of the others, I don’t even know where they are.  But I’ll get to them all eventually.

I even have a few trip reports linked; you’ll have to mouse-over to see the link.  Where there is a Gerry Roach Classic or Top 10 route, I’ve noted it unless I only climbed something else.

I count eighty pieces of rock, and I’m just over half way after 15 years.
